Ernst & Young

FSO Assurance Associate, Banking & Capital Markets · San Francisco · 2026 to present. Previously FSO Assurance Intern, Wealth & Asset Management, 2024.

I work in EY's financial services assurance practice, analyzing financial statements, reconciliations, and internal controls across 3 to 4 concurrent banking engagements. The job is finding the variances and material findings that matter and writing them up in risk summaries that client CFOs and leadership act on. It's where I learned that a number isn't done until you can show how it was built.

ABA Consulting

Marketing Analyst to Senior Advisor · Berkeley · 2022 to 2025

Three years and four roles at a student consulting organization running real engagements for real clients. I moved from analyst to project manager to senior advisor, delivering work for T-Mobile, IKEA, The Assistance Fund, and the Gates Foundation, and eventually owning the recruiting pipeline and training curriculum for the organization itself: 80+ candidates interviewed and workshops for 80+ members. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Strategy Project Manager (contract, via ABA Consulting) · 2024

The Foundation needed to decide which partner organizations could actually carry a major initiative. I built a quantitative partner-scoring framework from scratch, grounded in 30+ peer-reviewed sources and 10+ expert interviews, then led a cross-functional team of 8 analysts across 5 simultaneous workstreams to evaluate 6 major French nonprofit partners. Six months of research came down to one deliverable: a ranked shortlist and an actionable investment thesis, presented directly to the Foundation's Manager of Strategy.

Southern California Edison

Asset Data & Strategy Implementation Intern · 2023

Inside Edison International's asset strategy group, I designed an Excel operations database that automated the team's efficiency and headcount modeling, improving team productivity by 75%, and built Power BI dashboards that gave leadership a live view of asset KPIs. I also worked in SAP on internal reporting and asset data workflows. Small team, big company, and a lesson in how much leverage one good internal tool creates.

Startups, in London and Tokyo

Emplio (London, 2022) · AI SILK (Tokyo, 2022 to 2023)

Before the consulting work got serious I spent time inside two early-stage companies on opposite sides of the world. At Emplio in London I supported product and marketing for a UK startup still finding its shape. At AI SILK, a Tokyo company building electrically conductive fabric, I researched the digital health and metaverse markets, developed 7 product concepts for the material, and mapped a potential US expansion across 20+ prospective partnerships.

Both were small enough that the work was real and unglamorous. They're also why ambiguity doesn't bother me much: at that stage nobody hands you a defined problem.

  • IKEA (contract, via ABA): assessed financial-services market-entry feasibility, building customer segmentation models and competitive dashboards from a 1,500+ respondent survey.
  • The Assistance Fund (contract, via ABA): led a team of 5 through a 20-week growth engagement with 100% on-time delivery, validated by 15+ expert interviews and a 3,000+ respondent survey.
  • T-Mobile (contract, via ABA): customer and industry research on Gen Z recognition of their 5G product, built on 1,100+ survey responses.
