Hi, I'm AJ.

I grew up on a farm raising pigs, cows, and chickens. When I sold the first animal I raised, my dad told me the proceeds were mine to put into any stock I chose. That was my introduction to business, and it is fairly directly why I went to business school.

I studied at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, class of 2025, and was admitted to the Global Management Program, which sent me to London for a semester. It left me with a habit of looking at problems from a global angle and a durable interest in how other markets actually operate. I also took data science coursework, which is where I found the work I enjoy most: building something and watching it solve a real problem.

Consulting

I spent three years at Berkeley ABA Consulting, moving from analyst to project manager to senior advisor. The client work included IKEA, T-Mobile, and the Gates Foundation. For two semesters I was the project manager on the nonprofit team, running engagements for The Assistance Fund and the Gates Foundation.

That nonprofit work is what I would point to if asked what I want my career to add up to. I would like the long arc of it to leave things better than I found them, and the way I think I can contribute is by building useful things and being honest about whether they work.

I also completed two international internships, one in London and one with a Tokyo-based company that sent me to CES. Both were small enough that the work was real, and both are why ambiguity does not bother me much.

Now

I am an analyst at EY in San Francisco, in the financial services assurance practice, working across banking engagements.

Outside of work I build, and nearly all of it now runs through AI tooling, Claude Code in particular. That includes this site, NotTomorrow, a recommendation engine, and an empirical study of how AI models behave on real occupational work. The study taught me more about research than any coursework did, largely because it went wrong in an instructive way.

What I'm looking for

A full-time role where analytical rigor and shipping speed both matter: AI implementation and applied AI, product management, data and analytics, strategy and operations, or strategic finance. Anywhere in the Bay Area works, San Francisco through the Peninsula and South Bay, and I am open to Santa Barbara or remote.

Outside work

I am competitive, and most of what I do for fun reflects that: basketball, soccer, skiing, chess, and training seriously enough that fitness shapes how I structure a week. I follow the semiconductor and data-center industry closely, and I have a standing AI workflow that assembles a weekly economics digest for me. I also travel whenever I can, usually with an unreasonable amount of effort spent optimizing the trip.
